Striking workers at Nexperia allegedly blocked access to food, medicine and water; incl. company response

In March 2025, striking workers at Nexperia Philippines, allegedly faced an attack on their rights when company management blocked access to food, medicine, and water at the picket line. The workers, who were on strike to demand better working conditions and respect for labour rights, reported that these actions by Nexperia’s management endangered their health and well-being, and were intended to break the strike and suppress collective bargaining efforts. Labour rights organisations condemned the company’s tactics as a violation of fundamental workers’ rights and called for immediate intervention to ensure the safety and dignity of the strikers.
