The report states that the emissions from Santa Cruz reach the state of São Paulo, which is unrealistic as Ternium´s operation is almost 250 km away from São Paulo. Apart from that, the allegation that the operation would be responsible for 1,200 deaths from respiratory problems is also unfounded. Public data released by the Municipal Health Department of Rio de Janeiro demonstrates that living in Santa Cruz does not increase the mortality rate compared to other regions of the city. More than 60% of Ternium's 8,000 employees live in the region, undergo rigorous annual exams, and there is no evidence of harm to workers' health.

Ternium has a valid environmental license, granted by the environmental agency, and has international control standards. Between 2017 and 2024, the company invested more than R$450 million in environmental projects and is committed to keep investing, with a forecast of R$650 million to improve environmental performance by 2030.
