“Lawsuit: Restaurant owner threatened worker’s green card if she refused sex”
A former employee at Korean restaurant Kim’s Galbi alleges in a lawsuit that its owner forced her into a sexual relationship by threatening to revoke his sponsorship of her and her two sons’ green cards. The owner did not respond to requests for comment.
The woman is suing restaurateur Chu Yu Kim, also known as Paul Yu Kim, and CKML Management Inc., which does business as Kim’s Galbi, for sexual assault and sexual abuse. She seeks damages of more than $250,000 but less than $1 million.
Kim didn’t respond to multiple requests for comment. He has not been served with the lawsuit and has not filed an answer to the complaint, which was filed March 19 in state District Court in San Antonio.
“On at least 5 occasions (the most recent being August 29, 2023) Kim and Galbi conspired to force (her) to have sexual relations with Kim,” the woman alleges in her complaint.
“The sexual assault and sexual abuse by Kim (were) despicable and the threat of revoking (her) Green Card sponsorship destroyed any consent that Kim and Galbi could possibly claim,” she says in the suit…
