A story documented by "Tlachinollan" Human Rights Centre on the agricultural field "El Gallo", owned by the Mexican company Agrícola Sacramento, reflects the extreme labour precariousness with which thousands of women agricultural workers live in Mexico. The gender impacts include the lack of attention to maternal health and the lack of guarantee of rights such as the right to an adequate standard of living, education and health for their families.

In 2019, the Federal Labour Law included the obligation for the National Minimum Wage Commission (CONASAMI) to set a minimum professional wage for agricultural workers, taking into account the risks inherent to the work carried out and the characteristics of agricultural workers' families. For the worker population, the result is insufficient, while the companies exert more influence on CONASAMI to keep standards low.
