The coordinator of the Black Fraternal Organisation of Honduras (OFRANEH), Miriam Miranda, denounced that she received death threats. Earlier that day, she had tweeted that she was demanding respect for the Garífuna people who are being threatened, persecuted and murdered. A few hours later she received several messages threatening her and her family with death. For years, the defender has been living through systematic persecution and threats (such as in 2017 and 2019) for her struggles in favour of territory, common goods and ancestral cultures.
