Bouygues' reply

At around 7.30am on 17 October, demonstrators invaded the Adidas Arena site at Porte de la Chapelle, demanding that illegal workers be regularised. This demand follows the termination of the employment contracts of several employees of subcontracting companies who had used identity theft or forged documents.

In coordination with the city of Paris, Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France, its partner companies and the authorities took action as soon as the demonstrators arrived to ensure the safety of employees and the site.

As part of its policy to combat illegal employment, Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France, in partnership with the competent authorities :

  • Applies rigorous control procedures for all personnel working on its sites,
  • Works with the help of the prefectures to ensure that all the foreign workers it hires have the proper papers,
  • Signs contracts with its partner companies that include specific clauses to guarantee the legal status of employees working on its sites.

The stakeholders with whom Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France works undertake to comply strictly with the law in accordance with Bouygues Construction's policies and values. In the event of non-compliance, Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France will take immediate action to put an end to the irregularities.
