The workers of the Jun Sheng Garment Factory in the Shwe Lin Van Industrial Zone told Myanmar Labor News that the workers are suffering from mental and physical damage because they are taking overtime for days…

In February of this year, Myanmar Labor News reported that Jun Sheng Garment Factory is calling for overtime and overnight workers.

"…I had to work in another department for 3 days of the Thingyan holiday. We didn't do it," said a female worker.

… regular working hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and they work overtime until 8:30 pm every day…

In addition, 4 machine lines, The finishing and packing departments are still working from 8:00 to 12:00 every day. Ma Lin Lin said that on Saturday and Sunday, they have to work from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and some lines have to work until 12:00 pm…

The finance department also treated the factory workers who quit their jobs arrogantly…

"… If the dismissed worker does not show up on the day to receive the salary, they must wait for the appointed date. Arrogantly speaking. Just like that, if overtime is not paid, I have to wait for the next day." Ma May Thu Zaw said...

"...when we [take] casual leave and medical leave, [they] cut the regular pay for those days off…

The workers said that the dining area and seats in the factory are not enough, and most of the workers have to sit down to eat.

The factory is run by around 400 workers and is said to be sewing MOHITO, an international brand.
