On...29 October 2019, the Cabinet has approved and adopted the First National Action on Business and Human Rights (NAP) (2019-2022) as proposed by the Rights and Liberties Protection Department, Ministry of Justice, marking Thailand the first country in Asia to adopt the stand-alone National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights. The preparation of the NAP is based on a participatory process involving all concerned parties including government sectors, state owned enterprises, business sectors and civil societies...The making of the NAP has been commenced since 2016... Key elements of NAP encompasses 4 key priority areas needed to be addressed 1) Labor 2) Community, Land, Natural Resource and Environment 3) Human Rights Defenders 4) Cross Border Investment and Multi National Enterprises...The NAP will be monitored, followed-up and assessed by the National Sub-Committee on Driving Forward Human Rights Affairs...
