In May 2015 the German fashion company Hugo Boss was confronted at its annual general meeting over allegations of exploitative labour conditions in its suppliers' textile factories in Bangladesh.  Dr. Gisela Burckhardt, author of a book on the textile industry and its supply chain, filed a counter motion in the name of FEMNET e.V. and the Clean Clothes Campaign with the support of the Ethical Shareholders' Association in Germany. Mrs Burckhardt's motion raised the alleged underpayment of workers, sexual discrimination and denial of freedom of association.
