Cambodia: Garment factory sues union for breaching court protection order by continuing strike & blocking factory gates

"Garment factory owner asks minister for help", 21 January 2018

The director of Gawon Apparel Co, Ltd has sued the Coalition of Cambodian Apparel Workers' Democratic Union (C.CAWDU) for not following a court decision and has asked the Minister of Labour to take action to open the gates of the factory.

Chha Kbong Hy...the director of Gawon Apparel...said..."The Kandal provincial court issued a court protection warrant and ordered all protesters to go back to work as normal in 48 hours, but these union officials led by Rann Bora, Prak Chanthorn and Kris Chantha still led the workers to strike and block the gates of the factory," she said.

...Gawon Apparel fired nearly 600 staff for breaching a court warrant ordering them to go back to work after months of protests.
