Coop is referred to in the report as a positive example thanks to its actions along the supply chain as well as its transparency towards both consumers and stakeholders. The previous reports did highlight Coop leading position in terms of commitment and transparency... As we specified to Filiera sporca we wish to clarify that Coop does not use the electronic reverse auctions, which are made exclusively online without meeting suppliers and in a set period of time.  Coop thinks that these auctions could prejudice both the conduct of business and the quality of the purchased products. What does Coop do then? Negotiations are made in physical meetings with suppliers. Coop builds strong and long-term relationship with suppliers; this is possible thanks to periodic meetings, farms/factory visits and controls along the supply chain; Coop also uses the web for its sourcing, but in a totally transparent way...
