Developer accused of legal blow to freedom [Hong Kong]

The developer of a new block in Mei Foo Sun Chuen has been accused of "suppressing freedom of speech" after filing a claim demanding more than HK$1.4 million in damages from protesters, and seeking a court injunction against further protests. Dozens of Mei Foo residents yesterday tied black ribbons around their wrists as they gathered next to the construction site to show their disgust at the writ filed by Billion Star Development...The developer is also suing 500 people...who staged a "lie-in" on a private road of the estate earlier this month...[R]esidents say the new building will block their access to light and clean air...
