IBLF awarded ‘observer’ status of the Colombia Guidelines

On 21 December 2010, IBLF was awarded ‘observer’ status of the Colombia Guidelines (Guías Colombia) on [business,] Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law. The Colombia Guidelines are 'a multi-stakeholder initiative composed by members of the business community...Civil Society Organizations (CSO)...and the Colombian Government'...The Colombia Guidelines were publicly launched in July 2010...From 2006, it focused on security and human rights in the non-extractive sector in Colombia. Since then, the focus has changed to human rights and international humanitarian law. As a multi-stakeholder initiative, the Colombia Guidelines engage multinational companies including Coca-Cola and Nestlé, Colombian companies such as Indupalma, key international and local civil society agencies, International Alert, and Fundación Ideas para la Paz (FIP)...
