Mexico: Peña Colorada operations allegedly lack consultation and are causing environmental impacts

Consorcio Minero Benito Juárez Peña Colorada, a Joint Venture between ArcelorMittal and Ternium acummulates allegations of:

  • Lack of consultation, defenders attacks and continued fear due to daily explosures in Peña Colorada mine
  • Air and water pollution, as well as deforestation in Peña Colorada mine, allegedly causing an increase in diseases.

BHRC invited the company to respond to allegations. The company responded.
