Response to “Right2Respect Northern Gateway tarsands pipeline: The other unheard argument – human rights” by Frank Seier

I appreciate the points...[Frank Seier] has made and, in particular, share his view that Enbridge and our Northern Gateway Project must consistently and rigorously uphold the highest standards of human rights...To that end, Enbridge has gone to great lengths to thoroughly assess potential social, economic and environmental impacts of the project through the extensive socio-economic and environmental studies we have conducted. Enbridge recognizes that governments have the primary responsibility to promote and protect human rights, and that we will work with governments and agencies to support and respect human rights within our sphere of influence. Enbridge will not tolerate human rights abuses, and will not engage or be complicit in any activity that solicits or encourages human rights abuse. Enbridge will always strive to build trust, deliver mutual advantage and demonstrate respect for human dignity and rights in all relationships it enters into, including respect for cultures, customs and values of individuals and groups.
