In November 2025, it was reported that workers were left unpaid after their employer, Twelve Cupcakes, closed without sending them their salaries. Impacted workers included migrants from China, India and the Philippines.

The workers were also allegedly subjected to poor working conditions, including 12-hour workdays and excessive production targets.

In April 2026, it was reported that worker rights groups critiqued the Ministry of Manpower's response to the case. The groups said a 'stern warning' was insufficient given the impact on the workers.
