Total's position

Total is sorry to see municipalities and NGOs take legal action, when solutions to address both the need for affordable energy for all and climate change require cooperation among the various stakeholders.

We have long publicly recognized climate challenges and take them into account in our strategy. Well before Vigilance Plans were legally mandated, we published information about Total’s strategy and the measures we are taking to make a responsible contribution to the achievement of the Paris Agreement’s objective...

Total’s Vigilance Plan complies with the French law on duty of care. The 2019 Vigilance Plan can be read here, in Section 3.5 of the 2018 Management Report: https://www.total.com/sites/default/files/atoms/files/ddr2018-en.pdf...

Total is always open to constructive dialogue on these issues.
