Uganda: More 250 tea workers strike over employer's failure to implement agreed salary increase; incl. co. responses

In July 2022, it was reported that 250 workers at the Bugambe Tea Estate factory went on strike over management’s failure to fulfil its promise to increase salaries amid rising living costs.

After a meeting, the workers called off the strike and agreed to resume work on the condition that company management would review working conditions

In December 2022, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Morrisons, Typhoo, Tetley, Unilever and ekaterra to respond. The full responses can be found below.
