Uganda: Police arrest and charge seven lawyers investigating circumstances of alleged forceful eviction of locals by multinationals

Anti-riot police rounded up and arrested seven lawyers who were investigating circumstances surrounding the alleged forceful eviction of over 35,000 people locals by Agilis Partners, Great Season and Kiryandongo Sugar Limited. They were later charged and released on police bond. The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre had earlier reached out to Agilis Partners on the allegations of forced eviction. Agilis Partners had denied the allegations.
