Walmart workers' strikes reason for company raising wages to $10, protesters say [USA]

Northeast Ohioans who demonstrated at area Walmart stores on Black Friday believe such protests played a role in the retailer's decision to pay all workers at least $10 by 2016...Harriet Applegate, who heads the North Shore AFL-CIO Federation of Labor, [said]..."It shows how when people become active and put pressure on one of the largest corporations in the world they are forced to respond...They wouldn't be doing this if there hadn't been pressure."
