...[I]t was reported as kidnapping and raping. We cannot say what exactly has happened before the end of the investigation and the decision of the court. The CCTV in the hotel clearly shows that the taxi driver and the woman have entered the room together...caring shopping bags...What happened in the hotel room we cannot know and it is a subject to investigation. Whatever happened there is personal, and not as a servant of our company. We would like to inform you that he owns all of the needed documents from the government institutions, proving that he is eligible to work as a taxi driver...All media accuse us of irresponsibility, incompetence, and lack of professionalism. The damage they caused is immeasurable.

Sofia taxi driver arrested for abduction, rape of client [Bulgaria]

A 40-year-old taxi driver was arrested for the alleged abduction and rape of a client...The man arrested was employed by one of the largest taxi companies in Sofia [company referred to is OK SuperTrans], despite being sought for more than a month in connection with a conviction. When arrested, he had no identification documents, and later was found to have three convictions, including for illegal drugs and vandalism. The man in custody had a police record for possessing drugs, resisting police and robbery, television station bTV said. The alleged victim said that the driver had raped, beaten and robbed her in Sofia's Knyazhevo residential area. The taxi company had declined to comment, bTV said. 40-годишен таксиметров шофьор е задържан за отвличане и изнасилване на клиентка снощи. Ангел Николов е работил в софийската компания "ОК Супертранс" от месец и половина, въпреки че е издирван от началото на март заради влязла в сила присъда. Когато е арестуван, Николв не е носил документи за самоличност, а по-късно е установено, че има три присъди - за притежание на дрога, указване на съпротива на полицаи и грабежи…От таксиметровата компания обясниха, че Николов е предоставил редовно разрешително, издадено през 2005 г...Изпълнителният директор на таксиметровата компания Людмил Лазаров заяви...че фирмата е нямала никакви допълнителни данни за Николов.
