We thank Ivan Franceschini, postdoctoral fellow at the Australian Centre on China in the World, at the Australian National University, for contributing a guest blog for this issue. Ivan shares the findings of his field research in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, regarding the labour conditions of workers from both China and Cambodia, and calls for strong protections for people who build the city while drawing a master plan for its development.
