The campaign
We want the government to take action to end slavery in UK company supply chains. We are campaigning for the Modern Slavery Bill to be amended to require large companies to report on what they are doing to identify and address modern slavery in their international supply chains.
The Modern Slavery Bill is currently before Parliament. The Bill is an important step towards achieving the goal of ending slavery. The addition of supply chain transparency measures would ensure that UK businesses and businesses operating in the UK do not sustain and benefit from slavery, while creating a level playing field for all businesses that are taking steps to address slavery in their operations. MPs of all parties support adding a supply chain transparency measure to the Bill and investors and businesses have written to the Prime Minister calling for a legal requirement on transparency.
