中资孟加拉电厂遭遇村民抗议 多人伤亡

孟加拉东南部吉大港市两座中国公司参与投资建设的火电厂遭遇当地村民抗议。法新社报道称,在抗议升级为骚乱后,警察周一(4月4日)向示威村民开前并导致4人死亡。当 地媒体《每日星报》(Daily Star)报道称,抗议源于孟加拉当地公司S.ALAM集团计划在当地兴建的两座装机总量达到122万千瓦的火电站。这两座电站得到了中国企业山东电力建 设第三工程公司(SEPCOIII Electric Power)和鸿泰公司(HTG)的资金支持。在24亿美元的总投资中,中国资金占到17.5亿美元。

...大批村民周一在偏远的小镇甘达玛拉举行示威,抗议兴建两座火电厂,据称有数千人会因电厂建设遭到驱逐。当地政府禁止了这次示威游行。警方称自己在遭袭后开火还击…目击者称,至少有5人被打死,100余人受伤。目击者估计抗议人群约有1.5万人。示威村民称自身行为为和平抗议。但警方表示,有11名警察受伤,其中1人头部中弹。[警方负责人]库马尔称,当地村民反对电厂建设的原因是担心会带来污染,破坏环境,逼迫村民离开。

冲突发生前,孟加拉当地公司S.ALAM集团开始为电厂建设进行前期的征地等工作,村民随后进行了数天的和平示威。专家称,这两座电厂可能对当地独特的生态系统造成极大损害,这里是濒临灭绝的孟加拉虎和恒河喙豚的家园。
