Thailand’s Ratchada Civil Court has ordered Akara Resources, operator of the Chatree Gold Mine and a subsidiary of Australia-based Kingsgate Consolidated, to compensate 382 nearby residents for health and environmental harms linked to the mine’s operations. The court also ordered the rehabilitation of contaminated water sources.
