Timeline of Reinstatement and Return to Work
Following Mr. Chan’s release from detention, ASICS confirmed his reinstatement with the same title and salary, along with full back pay for the period of detention. In April 2025, Mr. Chan requested that WSS consider transferring him back to Building A, where he had been assigned before his detention. With ASICS’ engagement, his responsibilities were reinstated in Building A through organizational changes implemented by the factory.
ASICS has received confirmation that Mr. Chan continues to have unrestricted access to and interaction with colleagues across the facility. This assurance has been directly communicated to him by WSS, and he has acknowledged the arrangement.
- Sep 01, 2025: Mr. Chan was assigned to both Building A and the warehouse
- Sep 11, 2025: The factory announced a new organizational structure (effective Sep 15) confirming Mr. Chan’s responsibility for Building A; responsibilities and team composition mirror the condition prior to his detention. Therefore, his workplace has returned to Building A. Internal communications to Mr. Chan reiterated the expectation of non-discrimination in interactions with other workers.
- Sep 15, 2025: Above organizational change became effective.
