Bahrain: Following 2016 reports of unpaid wages at GPZ, 18 migrant workers remain in accommodation as Ministry intervenes to file latest case against the company

"Company faces legal action over unpaid wages," 6 May 2021

Labour and Social Development Ministry has filed a case against G P Zachariades (GPZ)… for failing to settle the wages of 18 expat workers…

[It is] communicating with workers’ representatives to ensure they are provided with their basic needs and healthcare requirements.

“Several meetings were organised by the ministry, involving representatives of the employer and workers, which resulted in handing over the full dues to 32 workers, who later left for their countries,” said the statement…

“All workers currently staying at the accommodation will be leaving to their countries within the coming few days.

“… fees for quarantine in the workers’ countries have also been covered.”
