Google did not respond to privacy concerns pertaining to Android phones sold in China

On 20 March 2023, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Google to respond to concerns raised by technical researchers from the University of Edinburgh and Trinity College Dublin, who unveiled that Android phones sold in China come with preinstalled apps transmitting privacy-sensitive data to third parties. The Android operating system is developed by Google. The company did not respond.
