Guatemala: Solway Group threatens Argia magazine with a lawsuit if information published about its mine is not withdrawn

In June 2023, Solway Investment Group threatened the Basque magazine Argia with a lawsuit if it did not remove an interview with the Guatemalan journalist Paolina Albani or pay the company a sum of 15,000 euros.

Argia interviewed Guatemalan journalist Paolina Albani at the end of April 2023. Albani collaborates with the media Prensa Comunitaria. During the interview she spoke about a study she is working on, "Mining Secrets", alleging that the company hid reports of pollution.

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Solway Investment Group to respond; it did not.
