There has been a report in today’s Metro newspaper about an alleged human rights violation at a tea estate which has been linked to Tetley [part of Tata Group]. As stated in the article, the estate does not supply any tea that goes into Tetley product. Tetley’s management is not involved in the running of this, or any other, tea estate. Tetley is, however, owned by Tata Global Beverages which partly owns the company which runs this tea estate. As the welfare of tea estate workers is of the utmost importance to Tata Global Beverages it is trying to establish the full facts surrounding this incident.
