India: Tea workers undertake protests - including hunger strike - over non-payment of wages and entitlements; incl. co. responses

In March 2022, it was reported that tea workers employed at Apeejay Tea Limited tea gardens in Assam, India staged protests, including a hunger strike, related to non-payment of salaries and other entitlements such as bonuses, provident funds and travel allowances.

In December 2022, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Tetley, Unilever, Morrisons, Typhoo and Tesco to respond. The full responses can be found below.
