India: Workers demand compensation and permanent housing for worker killed by tractor at Pabhoi Tea Estate, incl. co responses

In June 2023, it was reported that a worker at Pabhoi Tea Estate had been killed by a tractor. The incident triggered outrage among estate workers and residents, who demanded compensation for the victim's family. The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre invited Unilever - a buyer from the estate according to its publicly disclosed supplier list - and Lipton Teas and Infusions (formerly ekaterra), which took over most of Unilever's tea business in 2022 - to respond.
