SOMO presented its “Big Tech Lobby Playbook” series, arguing that major tech companies use a coordinated global strategy—ranging from narrative control and echo chambers to relentless lobbying and platform power—to shape, delay, or block regulation, warning of growing alliances with far-right forces, and noting that while none of the Big Tech firms responded to its findings, several industry associations and policy organisations did.
In a new analysis, Corporate Europe Observatory and LobbyControl analyse the tech industry's lobbying messages, how they have been adopted by the Commission as proposed text changes, and what the real world impacts could be.
