November 25 marked the 30th anniversary and launch of this year’s #16DaysofActivism campaign! In keeping with this year’s theme, “Orange the world: End violence against women now!”JASS will spotlight women-led initiatives from our three regions, where women activists are crossing the line to create a world free from violence.

For the next 14 days, follow us on social media to read, learn, and be inspired by the powerful organizing women are leading to defend land and life, develop economic alternatives, foster collective care and wellbeing, and more! Below are some key events you can be part of:

Women Defending Land and Life: The Story of Amadiba Crisis Committee

JASS Southern Africa is convening a regional dialogue “Women Defending Land and Life” as part of JASS’ virtual dialogue series Women Radically Transforming a World in Crisis on November 30 at 15:30 SAST/ 13:30 UTC.

The dialogue will spotlight the incredible organizing story of the Xolobeni community in South Africa, led by the Amadiba Crisis Committee along with movement lessons on defending land and life from women activists in the region.

Guardians of the Earth, Sowers of Hope

Despite progress in the prosecution of those behind the murder of Berta Cáceres, the paths to justice are still long and uncertain for land defenders who face threats and violence.

For #16DaysofActivism, JASS Mesoamerica has chosen the theme, 'Guardians of the Earth, Sowers of Hope’ to celebrate the resistance and organizing strategies of women from JASS’ Alquimia feminist movement builder schools, as well as launch an Art Contest (Convocatoria de Arte), and a new video on strategic feminist leadership...

One Day, One Voice: Stronger in Solidarity

For the 11th year, JASS Southeast Asia will commemorate #16DaysOfActivism with its regional campaign One Day, One Voice. Under the theme ‘Stronger in Solidarity’, JASS Southeast Asia will mobilize thousands of women from our networks in Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Timor-Leste using art, music, dance, poetry, and thematic conversations, to raise awareness around gender-based violence and State violence.

The campaign will also mark its first One Day, One Voice Regional Solidarity Day, on November 27 with JASS partners and allies across the region...
