Hard disk drive manufacturer JCY International Bhd is assessing the impact of the worker unrest and fire at one of its factories in Kulaijaya, Johor. It said…the incident at its unit JCY HDD Technology Sdn Bhd...had caused a temporary shutdown of the factory's operation at that location. "However, there were no major damages to the factories and properties of the company and its subsidiaries," it said in a statement to Bursa Malaysia…JCY said the company was "taking active steps and measures" to address the matter and to reach an amicable settlement with the workers.
