Methods of work

This note sets out some decisions made by the Working Group during its first session related to its methods of work, as well as preliminary considerations on a programme of work in relation to some of the complex substantive issues covered by the mandate...The Working Group places great importance on outreach and visiting countries and regions to disseminate and support the implementation of the Guiding Principles...In addition to the official country missions and any other visits to Member States, the Working Group aims to carry out its mandate in a manner that includes significant additional relevant field work...[T]he Working Group intends to continue engaging in regular dialogue and cooperation with States, human rights mechanisms, inter-governmental bodies, relevant UN entities, regional and national human rights institutions, representatives of business, civil society organisations, representatives of indigenous peoples, and any other relevant stakeholders, including representatives of impacted communities...The Working Group welcomes information related to its mandate. Information received from relevant stakeholders will be used as appropriate...It should be noted that the Working Group is not in a position to investigate individual cases...Implementation of the mandate of the Working Group: preliminary consideration of substantive programme of work
