Ministers 'failing to enforce rules on business' [UK]

The report focuses on the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's guidelines for multinational enterprises, governing companies' activities in areas such as employment relations, the environment and bribery...The lobby groups that wrote the report [Christian Aid, Amnesty International, Friends of the Earth] will meet Department of Trade and Industry officials on Thursday to discuss its findings. The government is reviewing its implementation of the guidelines and the lobby groups hope the research will encourage ministers to take a tougher line on complaints about multinationals' behaviour.
