Myanmar: Garment worker dismissed & blackmailed after being assaulted; incl. co response

In August 2024, it was reported that a woman QC worker at Golden Propitious (Myanmar) factory was fired after being assaulted inside the factory. A male worker started verbally abusing her, which escalated to physical violent, with the male worker throwing a wrench at her and trying to beat her. The worker was forced the worker to sign a resignation letter which she refused. The manager told her she would not receive any compensation, and would be blacklisted, and then dismissed her.

In December 2024, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited LPP (for Sinsay) and Semir International to respond. LPP responded; Semir International did not. The response can be found below.
