Two Pataxó indigenous, Samuel Cristiano do Amor Divino and the adolescent Nawy Brito de Jesus, were assassinated when they were riding on a motorbike along a highway. According to witnesses, they were being chased by gunmen in a car. According to reports, the victims were knocked down, surrendered and executed with several shots, including to the head. The indigenous people were killed at the entrance to one of the farms occupied by 19 Pataxó communities in the extreme south of Bahia about a year ago. The Pataxó people are demanding the homologation of the area, which is located between the municipalities of Porto Seguro and Prado. The scenario between ruralists and indigenous people is very tense in the area.
