On 15 November 2023, human rights defender and member of the movement Just Stop Oil, Noah Crane, was arrested following a march. Crane was sent to prison where he remains.

Since October 2023, 633 protesters belonging to the Just Stop Oil movement have been arrested, including Callum Goode, Luke Watson, Greg Sculthorpe . Nine of them including Sarti, are in prison, seven of whom have been imprisoned, without trial. They are Cressie Gethin, Ella Ward, Ruby Hamill, Phoebe Plummer, Chiara Sarti and Christopher Ford. Morgan Trowland and Marcus Decker have been sentenced to 3 years and 2 years 7 months respectively.
