[PDF] Fair Competition! Complaint Filed by Consumers in Germany in Defense of Workers’ Rights in South East Asia

...ECCHR and the Clean Clothes Campaign commissioned a study to ascertain whether or not working conditions in Bangladeshi textile factories had improved... Consumers must be able to trust that the vendor‟s information about the origin and production of a product is correct and unambiguous. The fair competition complaint submitted on April 6, 2010 is a test case addressing two questions: Are voluntary ethics codes are actually non-binding? And are German and European companies really not responsible for the working conditions in out-sourced production facilities?
