Peru: NGOs document abuses related to protests against Glencore amidst the pandemic

Derechos Humanos sin Fronteras

During July and August 2020, local communities from Espinar Province, in Cusco faced increased shortage of their living standards due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They mobilised asking Antapaccay, the Glencore project in the zone to provide them with a bonus to palliate the situation but they allege the company did not. The resulting protests were violently repressed. Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Glencore to respond. The response is available.
