Rialto Sues for Groundwater Cleanup

The City of Rialto has decided to sue 42 parties [over perchlorate pollution in the city’s drinking water], including the U.S. Department of Defense…[BF Goodrich… Emhart (part of Black & Decker)….Pyro Spectaculars]...Pyro Spectaculars’…lawyer in the perchlorate case, Brian Zagon, simply said, "We and our client do not believe we are responsible."…Bob Wyatt, a lawyer hired by Emhart, denies any association with the munitions manufacturer, and denies that it caused perchlorate pollution…[B.F. Goodrich] started out saying they were never there and they didn't do any manufacturing at the site… until someone looking through the prop room of a school theater discovered a rocket that said "Mfg. by B.F. Goodrich. Made in Rialto," complete with a date and contract number…Goodrich now argues that it is no longer liable because it came and left.
