Ural Rosprirodnadzor ordered to eliminate environmental violations at the sites of Sevuralboksitruda, 25 October 2023
The Urals Interregional Directorate of the Federal Service Rosprirodnadzor during an inspection found numerous violations of the environmental management of the bauxite mining company JSC Sevuralboksitruda (SUBR, part of UC RUSAL)....

The specialists inspected the company's sites and familiarised themselves with the relevant documentation. As a result, it was found that the organisation emits pollutants in violation of the regulations of the special permit; does not reduce emissions of harmful substances into the air during adverse weather conditions and, in addition, uses the resources of a water body without complying with the terms of the decision to grant the water body. In addition, the company has a poorly functioning gas purification unit and does not inspect the condition and pollution of the environment at waste disposal sites.

Based on Rosprirodnadzor's instruction, SUBR must eliminate the identified violations. Administrative response measures will also be taken against legal entities and officials of the enterprise.
