In May 2024, five activists from Återställ Våtmarker (Restore Wetlands) conducted a peaceful protest at the Finnish Embassy in Stockholm by emptying a bag of peat on the premises to highlight environmental concerns related to peat mining. The action specifically targeted Finnish state-owned company Neova. All five were ordered to pay 90,000 SEK in damages as part of the legal consequences. On December 1, 2025, three of these activists were sentenced to prison terms for their involvement in the embassy action.

The Business and Human Rights Centre invited Neova to respond; the response can be found above.
