The resolution asks BOC to commit to a full independent inquiry into the involvement of the company in the counter-insurgency operations conducted around the time of the mine closure, make recommendations as to appropriate redress for any past wrongdoing, and release the resulting report for public scrutiny...BOC is owned by Rio Tinto (53 per cent) and the PNG government (19 per cent)...To ensure the long term success of the mine for all involved BOC should also agree to the resolution calling on it to join three corporate citizenship initiatives.
