Tesco's response

Any abuse of workers’ rights is unacceptable. Unfortunately the production of a small number of orders was subcontracted, without authorisation, to a factory that Tesco had not approved. Of course it is essential to ensure the people who have unfairly found themselves in this situation are fairly paid and we are in discussions with worker representatives and local NGOs to ensure this, and are also reviewing other options to support worker rights groups in Mae Sot.
