Bangkok: A 30-year-old employee at Delta Electronics Thailand passed away a day after her request for additional sick leave was denied by her manager. The employee, identified as May, was previously hospitalised for four days due to an inflamed large intestine. Despite her condition, she returned to work out of fear of losing her job.

According to reports, May had requested another day off to recover, but her manager insisted she come to the office with a new medical certificate. Shortly after resuming her duties, she collapsed and was rushed for emergency surgery, but succumbed to necrotizing enterocolitis the same day.

Delta Electronics expressed its condolences in a public statement and announced a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
