Türkiye: 400 workers at Özak Textile factory fired after strike for better working conditions & right to unionise

Last month, 400 workers at the Özak Textile factory in Urfa, Türkiye, were fired after a weeks-long strike for better working conditions and their right to union freedom. As the workers used to make clothes for Levi Strauss & Co., they appealed to the brand.

Levi's agrees that the workers need to be rehired, but the factory owner refuses to respect their rights. The union has once more appealed to Levi's & Özak Textile to ensure workers will get their jobs back.

These workers were dismissed just for calling for their rights. They need more support. Inditex & HUGO BOSS have their clothes made by the same company. They should tell their business partner that workers have the right to organise and choose their own unions.
