UK: Worker Support Centre releases "largest ever" survey of migrant agricultural workers' experiences, incl. wage theft, fee-charging & poor treatment at work

The UK based Worker Support Centre has released data gathered from migrant worker support cases from 2023. The report particularly outlines risks facing seasonal agricultural workers including wage theft, poor treatment at work and the payment of illegal fees. WSC says the study is the largest ever independent study of seasonal agricultural workers' experiences in the UK, encompassing 405 individuals from over 12 countires, with 149 cases and 256 enquiries.

“I lived that life, I have first-hand experience of the problems workers face and I can read between the lines when they ask for our support. This work is so important because nobody but us listens to these workers; even when we’re not able to help, people are happy to know that somebody cares.”
